THE OPPORTUNITY: ONE CREATIVE, TWO COMPANIES

JSE Colibri Collective is the parent company of two small, close-knit businesses. Calliope West Artist Management is a talent management company representing actors and creatives in film and television. Instruction & Dragons is an educational mentorship program that uses tabletop roleplaying games to help students build Executive Functioning and Soft Skills.

We're looking for one versatile, self-directed creative professional to handle the visual and marketing presence for both. Like the Calliope hummingbird we're named after (colibri is Spanish for hummingbird), we work with vigorous alacrity: quickly, joyfully, and with purpose. We need someone who can match that energy in short, focused bursts each week.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Video Editing: Cut and polish short-form video content, including client reels, promotional clips, and social media videos for both companies.

Graphic Design: Create graphics for social media posts, flyers, one-sheets, pitch materials, and program announcements.

Website Design and Maintenance: Keep both company websites updated, attractive, and functional, making design improvements and content updates as needed.

Marketing: Help shape and execute simple, effective marketing efforts for both brands, from campaign ideas to email graphics to promotional materials.

Social Media Posting: Manage the posting schedule across both companies' social accounts, following established brand guidelines and posting content consistently and on time.

WHO YOU ARE

Reliable: When you say something will be done Tuesday, it's done Tuesday. With only 10 hours a week, consistency is everything.

Honest: We run our companies on transparency and integrity, and we expect the same from everyone who works with us. If something is going to be late, we want to hear it early. If you don't know how to do something, we want to hear that too.

Self-Directed: You'll receive clear direction and brand guidelines, but nobody will be looking over your shoulder. You manage your own hours and deliver finished work.

Versatile: You don't need to be a world-class expert in all five areas, but you need to be genuinely competent across video, graphics, web, marketing, and social. A jack-of-all-trades creative is exactly who we're looking for.

In It for the Long Haul: We'd rather find one great person and work together for years than retrain someone new every six months.

REQUIREMENTS

Demonstrated experience in video editing, graphic design, and website design (portfolio required)

Familiarity with social media platforms and scheduling tools

Strong written communication skills

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Based in the Los Angeles area for occasional in-person meetings

COMPENSATION AND SCHEDULE

$28.00 per hour, Non-Exempt

10 hours per week, with flexible scheduling

Long-term position with a stable, established company (Calliope West has operated for 13 years; Instruction & Dragons for roughly 20)
