Overview

Office Manager

Location: Syracuse, NY Salary: $48,000–$55,000 Schedule: Monday–Friday, On-Site

About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established transportation company in the Syracuse area, is seeking an experienced Office Manager to oversee the day-to-day administrative and accounting support functions of its local operation. This is a hands-on position that will play an important role in keeping the office organized, efficient, and running smoothly.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change throughout the day.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily administrative operations for the local office supporting approximately 30-35 employees
Manage general office administration, filing, recordkeeping, and documentation
Process and maintain accounts payable, including a high volume of weekly invoices and transactions
Assist with accounts receivable activities and customer account follow-up
Provide administrative and accounting support to the Credit Manager
Maintain accurate and organized financial and operational records
Assist with reconciling invoices and resolving discrepancies as needed
Coordinate office communications and respond to internal and external inquiries
Support management and employees with various administrative needs
Help ensure office processes and procedures are followed consistently
Handle other administrative and accounting-related responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in office administration, office management, accounting support, or a related role
Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Comfortable handling a high volume of invoices and financial transactions
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
Ability to work independently while also supporting a team
Professional, dependable, and willing to take a hands-on approach
