Territory Sales Representative – Big Green Egg & Outdoor Living Products

Territory: Upstate New York, Western New York & Vermont

About Tarantin Industries

Tarantin Industries is a leading distributor of premium outdoor living products throughout the Northeast. We are seeking a motivated and energetic Territory Sales Representative to represent Big Green Egg and other outdoor living brands within an established dealer network while identifying and developing new business opportunities.

This position is ideal for a self-starter who enjoys building relationships, working independently, and helping retailers grow their businesses through product knowledge, training, merchandising, and sales support.

Position Summary

The Territory Sales Representative is responsible for managing and growing sales within an assigned territory by maintaining strong relationships with existing retailers while developing new dealer partnerships. This role requires extensive travel throughout the territory, regular face-to-face customer interaction, product demonstrations, and training events.

This position manages an established dealer network throughout Upstate New York, Western New York, and Vermont while identifying and developing new growth opportunities. The successful candidate will work closely with independent retailers, hardware stores, Ace Hardware locations, and outdoor living dealers to increase sales, provide training, and strengthen brand presence throughout the territory.

The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for retailers and act as a brand ambassador for Big Green Egg and other outdoor living product lines.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular in-person sales calls with existing and prospective retailers throughout the assigned territory.
Maintain an average of six customer visits per day.
Grow sales within existing accounts through relationship development, training, merchandising, and promotional support.
Identify and secure new dealer opportunities within the territory.
Analyze sales trends and develop strategies to increase market penetration.
Follow up on all assigned sales leads within 48 hours and document results.
Conduct retailer product training sessions and live cooking demonstrations.
Assist dealers with promotional events, Eggfests, and other marketing activities.
Attend industry trade shows, sales meetings, and manufacturer training programs.
Partner with internal sales, marketing, and customer service teams to provide exceptional dealer support.
Maintain accurate customer records and activity reporting.

Qualifications

3+ years of outside sales, territory management, account management, or business development experience preferred.
Retail, hardware, outdoor living, BBQ, hearth, patio, or related industry experience is preferred.
Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational abilities.
Comfortable working independently and managing a multi-state territory.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
Ability to conduct product demonstrations and training events.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Competitive, goal-oriented, and driven to succeed.

Travel Requirements

Frequent travel throughout Upstate New York, Western New York, and Vermont.
Overnight travel of approximately 2–4 nights per week.
Occasional evening and weekend demonstrations, dealer events, and training programs.
Attendance at trade shows, dealer events, sales meetings, and manufacturer training programs.

Compensation & Benefits
