Founded in 1884, the firm serves businesses, municipalities, public authorities, and individuals across a broad range of matters, including business and commercial law, labor and employment, litigation, and trusts, estates, and personal planning.

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing client accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role supports healthy organizational cash flow by tracking receivables, actively managing collections, processing payments, and partners with internal stakeholders to resolve billing issues. This position is both transactional and client-facing, requiring a balance of financial accuracy and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Apply and reconcile client payments by check, credit card, ACH, and wire transfers, ensuring accuracy, timely posting, and compliance with company policies
Manage collections for client accounts, proactively following up on overdue balances and resolving payment delays
Perform account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve billing or payment issues independently
Prepare and analyze accounts receivable aging and status reports for management review
Partner with attorneys and billing team to resolve complex billing issues and improve collection outcomes
Coordinate with the billing team to maintain client accounts, ensure timely follow-up, resolve issues, and keep account records accurate
Serve as one of the points of contact for clients regarding billing inquiries, payment status, and account resolution

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered
2+ years managing accounts receivable portfolios and performing collections activities
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple accounts independently
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and comfort learning AR/accounting system(s) (Provantage)
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines
Professional communication skills and strong client-service orientation

Preferred Qualifications

Prior AR experience in a law firm or other professional services environment
Experience with basic AR functions and reporting
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
