Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Children's Cook to join our vibrant team! In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, appealing, and balanced meals tailored specifically for children. Your culinary expertise will help create a positive dining experience that promotes healthy eating habits and supports the well-being of our young guests. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact through your culinary skills while working in a lively, supportive environment committed to excellence and care.

Duties

Prepare and cook meals that meet dietary guidelines and nutritional standards for children
Plan menus that are diverse, balanced, and appealing to young tastes while adhering to dietary restrictions
Ensure all food handling, preparation, and serving practices comply with food safety and OCFS regulations
Assist with food presentation to make meals attractive and engaging for children
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and utensils
Collaborate with staff to accommodate special dietary needs or allergies
Work within the program budget to submit weekly food orders

Skills

Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide, with knowledge of nutrition standards for children
Strong culinary skills including food preparation, cooking techniques, and knife skills
Experience in menu planning and meal preparation within a food service or restaurant setting
Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment with attention to detail
Familiarity with catering, food industry standards, and fine dining experience is advantageous
Excellent communication skills and teamwork orientation to coordinate effectively with staff and caregivers

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
