OTP Team Lead (Operations Technology Manager)Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable, motivated, and experienced Operations Technology Manager (OTM) to oversee the technology operations of approximately 21 McDonald's restaurant locations while providing leadership and support to a team of OTP IT Technicians.

Reporting directly to the Director of Operations Technology, the OTM is responsible for ensuring every assigned restaurant receives timely, professional, and high-quality IT support. This role combines technical expertise, team leadership, project coordination, and field support to maintain the reliability of restaurant technology systems.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who enjoys mentoring technicians, solving technical challenges, and maintaining strong relationships with restaurant management.

Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership

Supervise, coach, and support a team of OTP IT Technicians.
Assign, prioritize, and monitor daily work activities.
Ensure technicians follow company procedures, documentation standards, and response timelines.
Provide technical guidance and assist technicians with escalated issues.
Conduct field visits to verify work quality and provide hands-on support when necessary.
Assist with onboarding and training new technicians.

Store Operations

Oversee technology support for approximately 21 McDonald's restaurant locations.
Ensure every assigned restaurant receives timely preventative maintenance and technical support.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with restaurant managers and operations leadership.
Monitor recurring issues and implement long-term corrective actions.
Coordinate emergency support and after-hours coverage when required.

Technical Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and resolve advanced hardware, software, networking, and connectivity issues.
Install, replace, and upgrade restaurant technology including:
POS systems and registers
Self-order kiosks
Tablets, printers, and kitchen technology
TVs and digital displays
Network switches, firewalls, access points, and related equipment
Diagnose, install, secure, and organize structured cabling.
Support restaurant technology projects, upgrades, and new deployments.
Escalate vendor-related issues when appropriate.

Documentation & Communication

Maintain accurate service documentation, tickets, notes, and photos.
Communicate project status, recurring issues, and performance updates to the Director of Operations Technology.
Ensure assigned stores remain compliant with company technology standards.
Assist with inventory management, equipment tracking, and project scheduling.

Required Qualifications

3+ years of IT support or technical field service experience.
Previous experience leading or mentoring a technical team.
Strong troubleshooting skills involving hardware, software, networking, and restaurant technology.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and support requests.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently while managing a regional team.
Reliable personal transportation.
Willingness to travel regularly between assigned restaurant locations.
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Ability to lift, carry, and install equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting McDonald's restaurant technology or similar quick-service restaurant environments.
Familiarity with POS systems (NCR, PAR, or similar).
Knowledge of LAN/WAN networking, Wi-Fi, VPNs, and structured cabling.
Experience with surveillance systems, access points, and low-voltage installations.
Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, and ticket management systems.
Experience coordinating technical projects and field service operations.
