Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing and analyzing financial data, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization’s financial health. Your expertise will help drive accurate reporting, streamline accounting processes, and uphold the integrity of our financial systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing organization committed to excellence in financial management.

Duties

Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and relevant regulatory standards.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and journal entries to ensure accuracy of financial data.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using various financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Workday.
Conduct month-end and year-end closing activities, including ledger maintenance and audit support.
Oversee payroll management utilizing systems like ADP, Kronos, or UltiPro, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
Assist with internal controls compliance including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) procedures and documentation.
Support budgeting, financial forecasting, and variance analysis to aid strategic decision-making.
Handle data entry tasks with high accuracy, utilizing Excel data analysis skills for reporting purposes.
Collaborate with external auditors during audits and ensure adherence to governmental accounting standards for non-profit or public sector entities if applicable.

Qualifications

Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong understanding of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation.
Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar systems; experience with Workday or UltiPro is a plus.
Knowledge of GAAP principles as well as governmental or non-profit accounting standards is highly desirable.
Familiarity with payroll systems like ADP or Kronos and payroll management processes.
Strong numeracy skills combined with excellent attention to detail for accurate data entry and account analysis.
Ability to perform complex Excel data analysis for reporting and reconciliation tasks.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and support audit processes.
