About this Job

The Office of State Parks (OSP) serves the citizens of Louisiana and visitors by preserving and interpreting natural areas of unique or exceptional scenic value, planning, developing and operating sites that provide outdoor recreation opportunities in natural surroundings, preserving and interpreting historical and scientific sites of statewide importance and administering intergovernmental programs related to outdoor recreation and trails.

This position is located at Black Bear Golf Course, part of Poverty Point Reservoir State Park in Delhi, LA. The Administrative Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting daily site operations by providing reliable, high-level administrative assistance and exceptional customer service. This position serves as a key point of contact, ensuring smooth office functions, assisting staff and visitors, and helping maintain an organized, efficient work environment. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, professional, and committed to delivering responsive, high-quality support.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

Performs various administrative tasks such as scheduling, screening visitors, and answering telephone calls for the manager.
Operate the Pro shop at the golf course; sell merchandise, conduct daily business, and keep display areas stocked and clean.
Assumes lead worker responsibilities of certain management functions such as completing and submitting paperwork to the Administrative Office or Human Resources.
Maintain inventory of supplies; operates office equipment.
Assists with new hire paperwork and training.
Operate the register & collect payment for golf course customers; setting up tee times, etc.
Process payment vouchers, delivery receiving reports, requests for purchases and contracts in written form.
Instruct personnel at the park fee stations on correct procedures for collecting fees, cash control, recording revenue, and completing all daily, weekly, and monthly revenue reports.
Greets visitors. Provides information regarding site accommodations, amenities, policies, procedures, laws, fees, tourist information, etc.
Receives, sorts, and distributes mail.

Position-Specific Details:
Location: Black Bear Golf Course, part of Poverty Point Reservoir State Park in Delhi, LA
Appointment Type: Probational, Promotion, or Detail to Special Duty
Career Progression: This position may be filled as an Administrative Coordinator 1, 2, or 3. As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled based on the qualifications of the selected applicant. Please refer to the "Class Specifications" page for specific information of salary ranges, minimum qualifications and job concepts for each level.
Work Schedule: State Parks are open 365 days a year. Position will work a rotating schedule of 40 hours/week, which can include holidays and/or weekends as needed, to ensure coverage at the park.
Travel: Position requires driving around the park as part of the daily shift. Travel may be required to other state parks to assist in staffing or events, as needed. A state vehicle is available for employee use while on duty.
Compensation: Compensation offered will be dependent on level of experience and certification, so please be sure to include all education and work experience for consideration.
