Full Job Description

LEGAL ASSISTANT / PARALEGAL

The Legal Assistant is primarily responsible for transcribing dictation from the attorneys to create, revise and finalize correspondence and legal documents, which requires a strong attention to detail. Located near downtown Clearwater, Florida our firm includes 6 attorneys and approximately 25 support staff with a focus on estate planning and corporate law. Pay is based upon experience.

Responsibilities will include:

- Transcribing digital dictation files to create and edit correspondence and legal documents in Word Perfect

- Preparing and editing charts in Excel and documents in Adobe Acrobat

- Internet and file research to complete documents and charts, including Clerks of Court, Property Appraisers, Secretaries of State, and general internet searching as needed

- Drafting estate planning documents including Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, etc.

- Drafting corporate documents including Operating Agreements, Leases, etc.

-Strict adherence to office procedures of correspondence and document preparation

-Fast pace office environment.

Education and experience requirements:

- AA or BA Degree preferred

-FRP or other paralegal certification preferred

-Must have 1+ year of office experience.

-Must type 65+ wpm - all candidates must take typing test

-Must have excellent spelling and grammar - all candidates must take grammar test
