Job Title: Welding & Fabrication Manager
Location: Ybor City / Downtown Tampa, FL
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:30 PM (No weekends)
Compensation: $30–$35/hour + potential bonus

About Us

We are a family-owned and operated subcontracting company specializing in bleachers and FDOT handrail systems. We are seeking an experienced Welding & Fabrication Manager to lead our production and processing team and oversee shop operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and on-time project completion. We are a predominantly Aluminum Shop.

Position Summary

The Welding & Fabrication Manager is responsible for supervising all production activities, including personnel, materials, equipment, and workflow. This role ensures operational excellence, adherence to safety and quality standards, and alignment with company goals and budgets. The Manager collaborates closely with the Project Manager and Finance Director to coordinate scheduling, resources, and daily shop operations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop a capable, engaged team aligned with company core values: Safety, Quality, Teamwork, Integrity, and Customer Satisfaction.
Oversee welding, fabrication, warehouse processes, and related equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
Plan and prioritize production schedules based on plant capacity, processes, and staffing requirements.
Implement improvements to production methods, equipment performance, workflow, and safety.
Coordinate production requirements with materials handling and other departments.
Interpret technical specifications and work orders, assign tasks, and inspect completed work.
Train, schedule, and supervise team members, providing guidance and performance feedback.
Maintain shop organization, equipment condition, and inventory accuracy.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Manage budgets, monitor costs, and implement cost-saving initiatives aligned with strategic goals.
Address employee relations matters including performance, attendance, and conflict resolution.
Track time records and absenteeism accurately.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and company programs.
Conduct team meetings to delegate work, review progress, and confirm deadlines.
Prepare and maintain Quality Control documentation and resolve manufacturing or safety issues.

Qualifications

Experience & Education

Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
At least 3 years of supervisory experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, JIT practices, and lean manufacturing principles.
Ability to coordinate technical, administrative, and production resources to resolve root-cause issues.
Experience managing monthly and annual budgets.
Working knowledge of OSHA standards and ergonomic practices.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and decision-making skills.
Proven leadership ability with strong communication, conflict resolution, and team-building skills.
Familiarity with ERP systems (Vantage ERP preferred).
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to travel occasionally.

Requirements

Must be available to work onsite Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM–3:30 PM.
Professional and friendly demeanor.
Highly organized with the ability to manage inventory, scheduling, and materials purchasing accurately.
