Full Job Description

Ken's Gutters is hiring an experienced Blue-Collar Recruiter to recruit field technicians and 1099 subcontractors across multiple markets.

Previous experience recruiting blue-collar workers, skilled trades, field technicians, or subcontractors is REQUIRED for this position.

We are specifically looking for someone who understands the challenges of finding and recruiting people in industries such as construction, roofing, HVAC, landscaping, maintenance, restoration, home services, or similar field-based trades.

If your recruiting experience has primarily been corporate, administrative, professional, healthcare, or IT recruiting, this position is likely not the right fit.

About the Role

This is not traditional corporate recruiting.

Ken's Gutters operates across multiple markets, and we need a recruiter who knows how to find field professionals where they actually are — not simply post a job advertisement and wait for applications.

You will recruit both 1099 independent contractors and W-2 field employees, primarily for gutter cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, and related exterior home services.

You will be expected to actively source, contact, screen, and build relationships with qualified field professionals and develop creative ways to reach potential subcontractors who may not be actively searching on traditional job boards.

Key Responsibilities

Recruit 1099 subcontractors and W-2 field technicians across multiple markets.
Proactively source blue-collar workers and skilled trades professionals.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified subcontractors.
Identify new sourcing channels and recruiting opportunities beyond traditional job boards.
Use social media, online communities, referrals, networking, local outreach, and other sourcing methods to find qualified professionals.
Contact prospective subcontractors directly and generate interest in working with Ken's Gutters.
Screen candidates for relevant experience, equipment, reliability, professionalism, and suitability for the work.
Conduct phone interviews and communicate effectively with English- and Spanish-speaking candidates.
Coordinate onboarding of approved subcontractors and employees.
Maintain accurate recruiting records and candidate pipelines.
Work closely with our Operations team to prioritize recruiting needs by market.
Follow up consistently with prospective contractors throughout the recruiting and onboarding process.

Required Experience

To be considered for this position, you must have previous recruiting or talent sourcing experience involving one or more of the following:

Blue-collar workers
Skilled trades
Field service technicians
Construction workers
1099 subcontractors
Home-service professionals
Maintenance or service technicians

Experience recruiting in industries such as construction, roofing, HVAC, plumbing, landscaping, restoration, property maintenance, electrical, appliance repair, pest control, janitorial services, logistics, or similar field-service industries is especially relevant.

Candidates whose recruiting background is exclusively corporate, administrative, IT, healthcare, or other professional positions will not be considered unless they also have substantial blue-collar recruiting experience.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a recruiter who is a problem solver, not someone who depends entirely on incoming applications.

You should be someone who:

Knows how to find proactively difficult-to-reach candidates.
Is comfortable making outbound calls and approaching prospective contractors.
Understands how blue-collar recruiting differs from corporate recruiting.
Builds rapport easily with field professionals and tradespeople.
Is persistent and follows up consistently.
Is comfortable recruiting in multiple geographic markets simultaneously.
Can work independently and take ownership of recruiting targets.
Is comfortable using an ATS, recruiting platforms, social media, online research, and other technology to source candidates.

Language

Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred.

A significant portion of the field professionals we recruit are Spanish-speaking, so the ability to communicate professionally and confidently in both English and Spanish is a major advantage.
