Full Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Construction Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from initial design through project closeout. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in construction management combined with a strong background in architectural and interior design coordination, allowing them to bridge the gap between design intent and successful project execution.

This role requires exceptional leadership, communication, budgeting, scheduling, and problem-solving skills to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Manage multiple construction projects simultaneously from pre-construction through completion.
Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, designers, consultants, and subcontractors throughout all project phases.
Review architectural, structural, MEP, and interior design drawings for constructability, coordination, code compliance, and value engineering opportunities.
Lead design coordination meetings to ensure design intent aligns with project budgets, schedules, and construction feasibility.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and monitor milestones.
Prepare, manage, and track project budgets, forecasts, change orders, and cost reports.
Negotiate and administer subcontractor agreements and vendor contracts.
Oversee permitting, procurement, material lead times, and project logistics.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor quality, safety, productivity, and compliance with contract documents.
Resolve design conflicts and field issues quickly while minimizing schedule impacts.
Ensure adherence to company quality standards, safety regulations, and building codes.
Manage Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, shop drawings, and closeout documentation.
Maintain strong client relationships by providing consistent communication, progress updates, and proactive solutions.
Mentor junior project managers, project engineers, and field staff.
Participate in business development efforts, project pursuits, and client presentations when required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, or a related field.
10+ years of progressive construction project management experience.
Previous experience in architectural design, interior design, design-build, or construction design coordination is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, building systems, and construction sequencing.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings.
Experience managing projects from concept through final occupancy.
Proficiency with project management software such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM 360), Microsoft Project, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of local building codes, permitting processes, and safety regulations.
Excellent leadership, organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Design-build project experience.
LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) certification.
OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or other design software.
Experience managing commercial office, retail, hospitality, healthcare, or multifamily projects.
