Full Job Description

Accounting & Operations Manager

A growing law firm is seeking an experienced Accounting & Operations Manager to oversee the firm's accounting and administrative functions.

This is a high-impact role responsible for ensuring the firm's accounting, administrative functions, and internal business processes run efficiently and accurately. The successful candidate will work closely with firm leadership and play an integral role in critical accounting, financial reporting, cash management, administration, and other key functions of the firm.

The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, and technology-driven, with strong accounting experience and a passion for leveraging the latest software tools, automation, and AI to improve financial operations, streamline processes, and help a growing organization operate at a high level.

Responsibilities

Oversee the firm's day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close.
Oversee the client trust account (IOLTA) and maintain accurate books and records, including recording transactions, performing reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with applicable requirements.
Prepare and maintain monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, management reports, budgets, forecasts, and other financial analyses for firm leadership.
Coordinate payroll processing, employee benefits administration, and related functions.
Oversee the firm's administrative operations, including vendor contracts, office expenditures, insurance policies, business licenses, and other related matters.
Develop, implement, and improve internal accounting procedures, financial controls, and operational processes to promote efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
Proactively identify, test, and implement innovative accounting and financial management technologies that improve visibility into firm finances, strengthen internal controls, automate routine processes, and support data-driven business decisions.
Design and maintain advanced Excel workbooks, financial models, dashboards, and reporting templates that support ongoing performance monitoring and firm decision-making.
Serve as a trusted business partner to firm leadership by proactively identifying opportunities to improve financial performance, operational efficiency, and internal processes.

Qualifications

5+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably within a law firm.
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, payroll, and financial reporting.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including custom reports, complex formulas, and financial analysis.
Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Technology-savvy with the ability to quickly learn and leverage modern accounting software, automation tools, and AI to improve efficiency.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
