Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide exceptional in-home care for clients requiring assistance with daily activities and health management. This role offers the unique opportunity to live with and support individuals in a personalized, respectful manner, promoting their independence, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will be energetic, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality patient-centered care in a home environment. This paid position is perfect for someone passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors or individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive personal care assistance, including help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
Monitor patient health through observation of vital signs and overall condition, reporting any concerns promptly.
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, and medication reminders.
Support patients with mobility using proper patient transfer methods and equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
Maintain accurate medical documentation and records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
Administer medications safely following medical terminology guidelines and home healthcare regulations.
Respond effectively to emergencies by applying first aid, basic life support (BLS), and CPR techniques as needed.
Facilitate communication between clients, family members, and healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care plans.
Assist with specialized care needs such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, hospice/end-of-life care, or patients with developmental disabilities.
Support client safety by conducting patient observation and implementing safety protocols within the home environment.

Requirements

Proven experience working as a caregiver in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home healthcare settings; live-in employment experience is highly valued.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, catheter care, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation practices.
Familiarity with home health care assistance tools such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods.
Ability to work independently while maintaining excellent communication skills with clients and team members.
Certification in first aid, CPR, and basic life support (BLS) is required; additional certifications in hospice or dementia care are a plus.
Experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with disabilities including dementia or developmental disabilities.
Knowledge of home health agency regulations and compliance standards including HIPAA privacy rules.
Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and assist with mobility tasks safely.
Compassionate attitude combined with a proactive approach to patient safety and comfort.
