Full Job Description

Job description:

High volume Diagnostic, Interventional Radiology, Neurology and Family Practice group seeking an experienced, professional AR Specialist preferably with diagnostic and interventional radiology experience. The individual will be responsible for diligently working outstanding Insurance and patient A/R to ensure reimbursement from insurance companies, patients and government healthcare programs, such as Medicare and AHCCCS. This is a full-time on-site position.

This position reports to the Central Business Office Manager and is responsible for the accurate and timely collection of insurance and patient payments.

Primary duties include:
Create, run and work AR reports according to aging and outstanding charge amounts. Initiate collection follow-up of all unpaid or denied claims with the appropriate Payors.

Research, appeal and resolve claim rejections/denials with the appropriate Payor.

Respond to written Payor communications as indicated with appropriate action in timely manner.

Update insurance and/or patient demographic information in the practice management system as required.

Communicate payment trends or insurance denials that impact revenue to management in a timely manner.

Document in the practice management system all follow up and communication on a patient account in a consistent and concise format.

The ideal candidate will possess:
High school diploma or equivalent, with some college preferred.

3-5 years experience in accounts receivable in a healthcare office setting

Proficiency in all MS Office

A self starter, with the ability to work independently

Strong attention to detail

Education and Training Requirements:

· High school diploma or GED is required.

· Experience in interventional, Radiology, Neurology and Family Practice coding experience is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

· Must possess excellent time management skills.

· Ability to communicate accurately to management and team members.

· Attention to detail and follow-through.

· Ability to work in a self-directed, self-motivated manner.

· Ability to think logically and analyze data.

· Technical knowledge of medical billing and coding software.

· Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurance codes.
