If this sounds like you, we may be looking for you to lead our Sign Department.

JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-driven Sign Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of our sign department, from estimating and design coordination through production, installation, and final delivery.

This role serves as the central hub between graphic design, production, installers, vendors, and the General Manager, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, profitably, and to the highest quality standards. You will own scheduling, workflow, inventory, and project execution while keeping communication clear and operations running smoothly.

The ideal candidate blends leadership, project management, design knowledge, and operational discipline. If you thrive in a fast-paced sign shop environment and enjoy turning complexity into clarity, this role is for you.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Own day-to-day operations of the Sign Department, ensuring efficiency, accountability, and high performance. This includes consults, design, quoting, scheduling and production.
Serve as the primary liaison between design, production, installation, vendors, and the GM.
Manage projects from initial consultation and estimating through production, installation, and final billing.
Prepare accurate estimates, scopes, and timelines; follow up on all outstanding quotes until a decision is made.
Coordinate scheduling for design, production, and installers to ensure timely project completion.
Oversee workflow and job prioritization to maximize throughput and minimize downtime.
Manage inventory, materials, and ordering to ensure jobs are properly supplied and costs are controlled.
Maintain quality control by validating specs, proofs, materials, and installation details.
Proactively identify bottlenecks, errors, or inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure all clients receive responses within 24 business hours.
Maintain organized project documentation including notes, files, photos, approvals, and communications.

The Sign Department runs efficiently, smoothly, and profitably.
Projects move seamlessly from consult to installation with minimal rework.
Clear, accurate estimates and proofs with no client confusion or missed details.
On-time project completion and effective coordination between all departments.
All estimates are followed up on until closed or declined.
Organized and up-to-date project files for every job.
Strong internal communication and installer alignment.
Consistent delivery of high-quality work and positive customer experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS

Proficient in Adobe Illustrator.
Experience in the sign, print, wrap, or visual communications industry (required).
Project management and people-management skills.
Passion for graphic design, branding, and visual arts.
High School Diploma (or equivalent required).
Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to learn quickly, follow processes, and adapt to new procedures.
Strong initiative, accountability, and reliability.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Willingness to work flexible hours when needed.
