Full Job Description

Position Title: Operating Room Circulator (RN) – Ambulatory Surgery Center

Schedule: Mondays
Location: Templeton, CA

Candidates must reside in San Luis Obispo County

About Us:
Coast Ambulatory Surgery Center is a AAAHC and Medicare-certified outpatient facility specializing primarily in podiatric surgery. We take pride in providing a safe, efficient, and patient-centered environment where teamwork and quality care are our top priorities.

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Operating Room Circulator Nurse (RN) to join our team on Mondays. This position is ideal for a skilled surgical nurse seeking a consistent, part-time schedule in a professional and well-organized ambulatory setting. The right candidate will bring strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring safety, comfort, and positive outcomes.
Prepare the operating room by confirming availability and functionality of required instruments, equipment, and supplies.
Circulate during podiatric procedures while maintaining sterile technique and adherence to infection control standards.
Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to support seamless case flow.
Monitor and document vital signs, medications, and intraoperative events accurately and promptly.
Conduct preoperative assessments and postoperative evaluations to ensure comprehensive continuity of care.
Educate patients and families on post-surgical care and recovery expectations.

Qualifications:

Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California.
Minimum 1 year of recent OR circulating experience (ASC experience preferred).
Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required).
Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, IV initiation, medication administration, and surgical documentation.
Excellent assessment and critical-thinking skills.
Experience in podiatric surgery preferred, but not required.
