Full Job Description

Job Overview
Our organization is a confidential, non-profit residential home. The residence is aging and in need of upgrades in plumbing, electrical wiring, roofing, flooring, etc. We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Coordinator to oversee these upgrades by skilled craft persons, as well as to manage routine maintenance around the facility. Routine repairs may include changing light bulbs, light painting, light carpentry, etc.

The candidate will coordinate with the Residential staff on a weekly basis and is expected to handle light duties consistent with a handyman/woman when needed.

Though presence at the facility every day is not required, the Facilities Maintenance Coordinator is expected to be on call to handle urgent repairs, select skilled craft as needed, coordinate times for repair, and be present when work is performed.

The ideal candidate will have experience in home construction and maintenance, knowledge of local skilled craft sources, and the ability to make recommendations on the most cost effective courses of action for maintenance and repairs. The incumbent is expected to provide light repairs in keeping with typical handyman/woman duties.

This position is ideal for a retiree or someone seeking to maximize a flexible work schedule.

Responsibilities

Coordinate maintenance needs with house staff on a weekly basis.
Identify vendors for major repairs and negotiate costs.
Available for calls related to emergency repairs.
Oversee repairs and troubleshooting of HVAC, electrical (including high voltage and low voltage systems), mechanical equipment, and industrial machinery.
Maintain confidentiality of group home location.
