Full Job Description

Mechanical Drafter/Modeler

Preferred Education/Experience:

Two years of experience performing 3D CAD modeling and final drawing creation for assemblies, fabrications, and individual components, or
Associates of Applied Science Degree in CAD Technology, or
Certificate/Diploma from a 1 to 2-year CAD Technology Program.

Preferred Skills:

Strong mechanical aptitude.
Strong work ethic.
Intermediate/Expert proficiency with Solidworks.
Understanding of machining drawings, including GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
Understanding of weldment drawings, including AWS weld symbols.
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Good math skills.

Job Responsibilities:

Solidworks 3D modeling of intermediate to complex assemblies/weldments, and creation of manufacturing drawings.
Work closely with engineers to select and incorporate materials, tolerance, design elements, manufacturing methods, etc.
Support creation of bills of material, manufacturing instructions (routers), weld maps, inspection reports, test reports, etc. for production and inspection activities.
Perform material take-offs, gather vendor material quotes, and support creation of estimates.
Support technical aspects of manufacturing projects from receipt of customer PO to shipment.
Technical communication with outside vendors.
Machining/welding fixture design, as needed to support projects.
Temporary assignment to other activities/duties as needed to support the business.

Heavy lifting, up to 50 lbs.
Walking, Standing, Reaching, Stooping, Crouching, Climbing

Pay: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour
