Full Job Description

Campus Student Services Coordinator

The Campus Student Services Coordinator will have a caseload to include students with special education eligibility as well as students with 504 plans. Duties include:

o Coordinating and overseeing the delivery of special education services on campus, including assessment, individualized education plan (IEP) development and implementation, and related services.

o Collaborating with teachers, school administrators, and other stakeholders to develop and implement strategies to support the academic and social-emotional needs of students with disabilities.

o Providing professional development and support to teachers and staff to ensure they are equipped to meet the needs of students with disabilities.

o Ensuring compliance with federal and state laws and regulations related to special education, including monitoring the implementation of IEPs and ensuring appropriate accommodations and modifications are in place. (Supported by Director, Frontline, and Clerk)

o Serving as a resource for parents and students, providing guidance and support to help them navigate the special education process and access appropriate services.

o Collecting and analyzing data to measure the effectiveness of special education services and identify areas for improvement. (Collaborate with ICs, PLCs, Campus administrators)

o Collaborating with other special education coordinators within the district to share best practices and ensure consistency across schools.

o Overall, your role as a special education campus coordinator will involve providing leadership and support to ensure that students with disabilities receive the services and accommodations they need to succeed in school.

o Writing appropriate documentation with accommodations as required and ensuring documents and reports are 100% accurate and delivered on time. Conducting annual meetings to update documentation.

o Keeping general education teachers apprised of IEP/504 goals and accommodations to ensure that all student needs are met both within and outside the classroom; collaborating with general education teachers and special education paraprofessionals to ensure that instruction supports the inclusion of IEP/504 students in the classroom.

o Tracking student progress and sending progress reports: monitoring student grades in general education classes.

o Using best practices to staff the CMC/Resource Room and provide instruction to all students on the caseload who attend classes or work sessions in the CMC/Resource Room.

o Coordinating standardized assessment arrangements for students on the caseload.

Additional Responsibilities

Fulfilling regular duties to aid with student arrival, dismissal, lunch duty, and the transition to after-school activities or other duties as assigned.

Scheduling and attending weekly or bi-weekly meetings with paraprofessionals who serve students on the caseload to discuss progress and strategies.

Attending monthly Student Services Team Leader Meetings.

Attending Somerset Academies professional development, staff meetings, and other required events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in Special Education.

Knowledge of the 504 Plan process.

Certification in Special Education
