Full Job Description

Nationally recognized Selected Independent firm, Broussard’s Mortuary, is looking to expand their team of licensed funeral professionals. Established in 1889, Broussard’s serves six locations in Southeast Texas.

Schedule Expectations

Rotating 10-day ON / 4-day OFF schedule
Work most national holidays
On-call an average of 4 nights per month (paired with a transporter)
Normal hours are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with 1-hour break, when possible

Qualifications

Communicates professionally in person, on the phone, and in writing
Has a reputation for providing excellent service to clients and co-workers
Good at multitasking
Ability to prioritize job demands
Good problem-solving skills
Works independently and as a team member
Good working knowledge of computers and technology (Microsoft Office, email, mobile devices)
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull at least to 40 lbs
Must be able to bend at the waist and knees

Education/Licensing

Embalming license issued by the Texas Funeral Service Commission
Valid Texas Driver’s License

Treat clients and coworkers with courtesy and respect
Maintain clean workspace
Take direction from supervisors
Positively respond to requests for assistance from co-workers, supervisors and clients
Notice when help is needed in all areas of the company
Take initiative to help any area of the company if possible, or let supervisor know where help is needed

Adhere to Broussard’s employment policies

Primary Responsibilities

Prepare decedents for final disposition according to company standards
Adhere to all professional, municipal, state, and federal licensing regulations applicable to embalming
Build relationships with funeral directors and work cooperatively with staff to provide high quality service to achieve client family satisfaction
Obtain vital information to complete necessary documentation
Complete required authorizations
Maintain clean and organized care center
Coordinate with all directors and locations to ensure deadline and expectations are met
