Please read this whole ad before applying. If you’re interested, the most important thing is simple — just email us. That’s it.

We’re a licensed plumbing company serving the Frisco / Plano area of North Texas. We’re looking for one reliable person to be our phone line during the day and handle light follow-up — calls, texts, and a few small tasks.

This is NOT a full day of work. Most days it’s well under 45 minutes of actual talking and typing — sometimes just a handful of calls. On a busy day, maybe up to a couple of hours, never more. The rest of the time you’re free to do your own thing. What matters most: when our phone rings, you pick up within a few seconds, every time.

We’re looking for a true always-on person — the kind whose phone is basically always in their hand by nature. If that’s just who you are, you’ll find this easy. If it’s not, this role won’t work for you.

It’s ideal as a second income for someone who already works from home on quiet, flexible computer work (data entry, spreadsheets, email/chat, admin) and can grab a quick call without it disrupting them.

What you’ll do:

Answer incoming calls during business hours, get the customer’s info, and book the job using a simple price guide we give you
Reply to customer texts (most of our follow-up is by text)
Make occasional short outbound calls when we ask — for example, call the city or an inspector, call a past customer for a review, or send a polite reminder to a customer with an unpaid invoice (we provide the payment link; you never handle card numbers)
Enter basic customer details into our system — name, address, the job, and scheduling — and keep the day’s log/schedule up to date (nothing complicated, just accurate and current)

What we provide: the software you’ll use to take calls and texts (it runs as an app on your own phone or computer), plus the price guide. All you need on your end is your own device and reliable internet — we don’t send any physical equipment.

Confidentiality: because you’ll have access to customer information, our price guide, and recorded calls, you’ll sign a simple confidentiality agreement (NDA) before you start. It’s standard — it just keeps customer and company information private.

Hours: Reachable 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM Central — 7 days a week, every day of the month. This is a daily role: there’s no set day off, so you need to be someone who’s genuinely fine being reachable every day. The good news: volume is low, you’re not on calls the whole time, and actual work is usually under 45 minutes a day. After-hours bookings are optional and earn extra (see pay).

What we need from you — the non-negotiables:

Based in the U.S., within about 45 minutes of Frisco, TX — we meet briefly in person every couple of weeks to go over calls
A clear, confident, professional phone voice and natural, easy-to-understand English — you are the first impression of our company
You follow our scripts and our wording. You represent a company, so it’s always “we” and “our technician” — never “he.” We give you the exact language; you stick to it. It sounds like a small thing, but it’s the whole difference between sounding like a real business and sounding like one guy with a phone.
You answer — always. This is the #1 thing, above everything else. Answering within seconds is the entire job. You need to be the type who keeps their phone on them at all times. To be straight with you up front: consistently missing calls (around three missed calls) means the arrangement ends. We say this plainly so nobody wastes their time — not you, not us.
Able to learn our price guide (about 5 pages) in one evening and use it on real calls — it tells you what to say and what to quote, so you’re not guessing
Coachable, and you grow into it. Our calls are recorded and we review them together regularly. We don’t expect you to know plumbing — we expect you to learn our guide and, over time, get the context of how we work so you handle more and more on your own. We want someone who takes feedback positively, gets sharper with it, and becomes more independent — not someone who needs hand-holding forever.

Not a fit if: your main job keeps you on calls or in meetings all day (you won’t be able to answer ours), you’re not local to North Texas, you’re looking for full-time hours and pay, or you’re not the type who’s reachable on your phone all day long. If you can’t reliably pick up fast, please don’t apply — it’ll only waste your time and ours.

Pay (1099 contractor) — most assistants in this role earn around $1,500–$1,600/month.

Here’s how it works:

$1,000/month base, just for being our daytime line
Plus a per-job bonus with no cap — $10 for every daytime job you book that gets completed, and $20 for every completed job after 6:00 PM
In a typical month that adds up to about $1,500–$1,600, and it’s entirely on you how high it goes — the more real jobs you book, the more you earn
