Full Job Description

About the Role

This leadership role is responsible for directing and optimizing the operations of a precision machining center. The Manufacturing Machining Center Manager oversees CNC machining operations, production scheduling, quality standards, workforce performance, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure operational excellence, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Lead and coordinate all machining center production activities, including CNC milling, turning, and secondary operations.
Oversee daily operations to ensure productivity, quality, safety, and efficiency goals are achieved.
Partner with Engineering, Quality, Materials, Maintenance, and Production Control to support production objectives and customer requirements.
Monitor production schedules and ensure customer orders are completed and delivered on time.
Manage staffing, training, performance, and development of machining center personnel.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, cost reduction, quality enhancement, and process optimization.
Ensure compliance with all safety policies, quality standards, and company procedures.
Analyze production metrics and implement corrective actions to improve operational performance.
Manage equipment utilization, preventive maintenance schedules, and capital equipment planning.
Prioritize and coordinate expedited orders and changing production demands.

What You Bring

Extensive experience leading machining operations in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, including 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machining centers.
Experience machining a variety of materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, and other specialty metals.
Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, workflow optimization, and lean manufacturing principles.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to effectively balance customer requirements, production priorities, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
7–10 years of manufacturing experience, including leadership or management responsibilities within a machining environment.
Experience with CNC machining operations and manufacturing best practices.
Semiconductor, aerospace, medical device, or precision manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and MRP/ERP systems.

Work Conditions

This position operates primarily in a manufacturing environment with:

Frequent exposure to machinery, moving equipment, and elevated noise levels.
Occasional exposure to environmental conditions such as heat, humidity, and outdoor elements.
Physical activity including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.
Regular presence on the production floor to support operations and employees.
