We are a full-service civil contractor with over 20 years of experience specializing in site preparation, earthwork, drainage, and utility installation for both private and public sector projects.

We focus on supporting renewable energy development, providing civil construction services for earthwork, drainage, and utility installations for energy developers and EPC firms.

We deliver best-in-class civil construction services, combining operational expertise with a commitment to quality, safety, and long-term client partnerships.

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial operations and drive the organization’s fiscal health and growth. As a key member of the executive team, the CFO will oversee all financial planning, reporting, analysis, and risk management activities. This role demands a proactive leader with exceptional financial acumen, organizational skills, and experience as a CFO within civil construction and demonstrate a passion for fostering sustainable growth through strategic financial initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Oversight

Track cash flow and oversee financial planning to maintain organizational liquidity.
Review and lead the company’s cash flow and controllers.
Provide executive-level oversight and coordination of all financial systems and reporting
Responsible for annual budgets rolling forecasts, internal controls and statutory filings
Direct the accounting team through month-end close processes and general ledger integrity.
Monitor the company’s financial operations to ensure stability for daily activities.
Establish policies for resource availability and liquidity optimization.
Work with our CPA firm to provide financial information for our bonding line

Financial Reporting and Compliance

Oversee financial reporting and all regulatory requirements.
Oversee and verify accuracy, accurate internal reports including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Prepare board packs, investor presentations, and external statutory filings.
Update rolling 3-to-12-month projections based on current performance.
Lead the oversight of financial reporting to maintain transparency and accuracy.
Analyze annual financial statements and present actionable insights to the CEO and executive team.

Risk Management

Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks including market fluctuations and regulatory shifts.
Maintain robust internal control frameworks and liaison with external auditors.
Ensure regulatory compliance with GAAP, IRS requirements, and applicable regulations.
Oversee tax filings and manage compliance with federal and state requirements.
Assess risks and make recommendations to mitigate them, securing the company’s assets and future.

Team Leadership

Build and mentor a high-performing finance team including controllers and Assistant controllers.
Set performance goals and foster professional development across the accounting department.
Collaborate with other department heads including HR, IT, and operations.
Work alongside other executives to integrate financial metrics into broader organizational goals

Qualifications:

Extensive experience in Construction Accounting.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. (Master’s preferred)
CPA strongly preferred.
10+ years of experience in accounting and finance, with at least 5 years in a management role.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Advanced understanding of GAAP/IFRS, consolidation and technical accounting.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
Ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
History of reporting to C-suite executives and presenting to boards.
