Full Job Description

ABOUT AUSTIN REGENERATIVE THERAPY

Austin Regenerative Therapy is a concierge longevity and regenerative medicine practice founded by Dr. Khanh Nguyen. We help patients defy time, age boldly, and live fully through advanced diagnostics, hormone optimization, peptide therapy, and cellular and plasma-based regenerative medicine. Our flagship therapy — Young Plasma Exchange (YPE) — sits at the center of our clinical identity, and the person in this role is directly responsible for delivering it safely, precisely, and with the warmth our patients expect from a concierge experience.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We're looking for a skilled Phlebotomist with hands-on experience operating Spectra Optia (or comparable apheresis systems) to perform Young Plasma Exchange (YPE) and Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (TPE) procedures. This role requires not just technical precision, but the ability to make patients feel calm, cared for, and confident throughout aprocedure that can take an hour or more.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform venipuncture and vascular access assessment for apheresis/plasma exchange procedures

Operate the Spectra Optia (or equivalent) apheresis machine independently, including setup, calibration, and monitoring throughout the procedure

Manage anticoagulant protocols (e.g., citrate) and monitor for and respond to adverse reactions, including citrate toxicity

Calculate and verify plasma exchange volumes per patient-specific parameters

Monitor patient vitals throughout procedures and document accurately per protocol

Maintain a calm, reassuring presence for patients — many of whom are new to plasma exchange and may feel anxious

Follow all documented SOPs precisely, flagging any gaps or ambiguities to clinical leadership rather than improvising

Maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times

Support general phlebotomy needs across the practice as needed (labs, diagnostics draws)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Active Phlebotomy Certification (or equivalent state-recognized credential)

Demonstrated hands-on experience operating apheresis/pheresis equipment (Spectra Optia strongly preferred;

COBE Spectra or Haemonetics experience also considered)

Direct experience performing plasma exchange procedures (TPE and/or YPE)

Strong understanding of vascular access techniques and anticoagulant management during pheresis

Meticulous attention to safety protocols and documentation

2 Years minimum experience with either Plasma Pharesis or Spectra Optia Machines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in a concierge medicine, regenerative medicine, or longevity-focused practice

Familiarity with plasma exchange for longevity/wellness applications specifically, not just standard therapeutic indications

Comfort working in a small, high-touch clinical environment where patient experience is as important as clinical execution

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
