Full Job Description

Are you a hands-on engineer who thrives on turning ideas into working chemical manufacturing processes? We're looking for a Chemical Project Engineer to lead technical project execution and provide day-to-day engineering support across our chemical manufacturing sites. This is an individual contributor role where you'll partner closely with Operations, Ownership, EHS, and site leadership to build out and keep our plants running safely and efficiently. We have production sites in Kershaw, SC, Houston, TX, San Angelo, TX, and Kansas City, KS.

What You'll Do

Manage capital projects from concept through startup and commissioning, including P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and equipment specifications.
Provide technical expertise on pumps, tanks/vessels, heat exchangers, piping, and chemical transfer systems, including those handling flammable materials.
Support design buildouts, plant expansions, and new product introductions.
Troubleshoot process issues and drive equipment reliability and performance improvements.
Experience handling flammables and implementing fire retardant systems a plus.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
Experience with large equipment or structural design in chemical, petroleum, mining, agriculture, or similar bulk-material industries.
Background in process design, hydraulic, pneumatic, structural, and instrumentation systems.
Knowledge of fluid dynamics, pump specifications, piping systems, and process modeling.
Familiarity with central plant equipment — pumps, chillers, boilers, cooling towers — and HVAC/thermodynamics principles.
A collaborative mindset and comfort working across Operations, Maintenance, EHS, and leadership teams.
