Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. This role is located in Austin, TX and will require relocation. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing authentic and visually stunning sushi dishes, ensuring the highest standards of quality, freshness, and presentation. Your expertise will contribute to creating an exceptional dining experience for our guests, blending traditional techniques with innovative culinary artistry. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your creativity, precision, and dedication to the art of sushi making in a lively and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese-inspired dishes with precision and artistry.
Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
Select fresh ingredients and handle raw fish and seafood safely and efficiently.
Create visually appealing sushi presentations that delight customers’ senses.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy hours.
Keep inventory organized, monitor stock levels, and communicate supply needs proactively.
Assist in training junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and standards.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within a high-volume restaurant setting.
Deep knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, including knife skills and fish handling.
Strong understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
Passion for culinary arts with a focus on Japanese cuisine and creative presentation.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
