Job Title: Well Analyst

Job Description

The Well Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing well and facility performance through the use of production data, SCADA systems, and operational reporting tools. This role supports production operations by identifying performance issues, monitoring equipment and well conditions, tracking production trends, and providing actionable recommendations to improve operational efficiency and reliability.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with SCADA systems, production surveillance, control room operations, or field operations within the oil and gas industry. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams.

Responsibilities

Monitor well, facility, and production performance using SCADA and other operational monitoring systems.
Analyze real-time and historical production data to identify operational issues, production losses, and optimization opportunities.
Monitor key operating parameters including pressures, temperatures, flow rates, tank levels, and equipment performance.
Respond to alarms, abnormal operating conditions, and production upsets by coordinating with field personnel and support teams.
Investigate production variances and equipment issues and assist in identifying corrective actions.
Support daily production surveillance activities and maintain awareness of asset performance.
Generate and distribute operational reports, production summaries, and performance metrics.
Track downtime events and assist with root cause analysis of production interruptions.
Monitor artificial lift systems and identify opportunities to improve well performance.
Maintain data integrity by validating production and operational data across multiple systems.
Support well testing, production allocation, and production reporting activities.
Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and performance tracking tools.
Collaborate with operations, engineering, maintenance, and field personnel to resolve operational issues.
Assist with production optimization initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
Ensure accurate documentation of operational events, performance trends, and corrective actions.

Skills and Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Technology, Engineering Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred.
Experience in oil and gas production operations, production surveillance, SCADA operations, control room operations, or a related field.
Strong working knowledge of SCADA systems and production monitoring tools preferred.
Understanding of oil and gas production processes, facilities, and equipment.
Familiarity with production data analysis and performance monitoring.
Knowledge of artificial lift systems such as gas lift, ESP, rod lift, or plunger lift is preferred.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with reporting tools, production databases, and operational software is preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, and maintenance personnel.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in a SCADA Operator, Control Room Operator, Lease Operator, Production Technician, or Production Analyst role.
Experience supporting production optimization and operational surveillance activities.
Familiarity with production reporting systems and data visualization tools.
Knowledge of field automation systems and remote monitoring technologies.
Experience working in unconventional oil and gas operations.

Job Details

Pay: $400/day Potentially more with experience.

1099 or W2 with benefits options.

Schedule: 5 days on 2 days off

Location: Carrizo Springs, TX

Pay: $400.00 - $500.00 per day
