Full Job Description

Job Title: Controller
Location: Austin, TX (Onsite)
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $170k - $200k/annum

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Controller with a strong background in public accounting and multi-unit retail, restaurant, franchise, foodservice, or hospitality operations. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting a multi-state organization and partnering with executive leadership in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

Oversee all day-to-day accounting and financial operations.
Manage the general ledger, month-end and year-end close processes.
Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports.
Develop budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
Monitor financial performance and provide analysis to support business decisions.
Establish and maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures.
Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Lead process improvements and help optimize accounting systems and workflows.
Partner with executive leadership on financial planning and operational initiatives.
Supervise and mentor the accounting team.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Active CPA is strongly preferred.
Previous public accounting experience (Big 4 or national/regional public accounting firm) is strongly preferred.
Proven experience as a Controller, Corporate Controller, or Assistant Controller.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and internal controls.
Experience with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Recent experience supporting multi-state retail, restaurant, franchise, foodservice, hospitality, convenience retail, or other multi-location consumer businesses is highly preferred.
Ability to work onsite in Austin, TX.

Preferred Experience

Multi-location or multi-site business operations.
ERP implementation or financial system optimization.
Process improvement and scalable accounting practices.
Experience supporting a high-growth organization.
Experience supporting restaurant, QSR, coffee, franchise, grocery, or other multi-location retail organizations is highly desirable.
