Chateau on Wildbriar Lake · Irving, TX · On-site · Part-Time
Who we are
Chateau on Wildbriar Lake is a family-owned luxury independent (not assisted) living community for active adults 55+, set right on Wildbriar Lake in Irving, TX. It has somewhat of a resort-style vibe: The lake, of course, a salt-water pool, a movie theater, a fishing pier and walking trails along the water, a game room, a hair and nail salon, a 24-hour coffee bar, and a full calendar of activities, social hours, and outings.
We're a family-run team, not a big corporate operator, and whoever fills this role will often work directly with the owners, and with the staff in general, you will be working with reasonable people.
It's all one building with indoor hallways and lots of community rooms and game rooms, so neighbors really get to know each other and the place fosters community.
Take a look at our website, www.chateauonwildbriarlake.com, to get a feel for who we are. This is a part-time position.
What you'll do
You're the first point of contact for residents, guests, vendors, and prospective residents, and the heart of the role is simple: make everyone who walks through our doors feel genuinely welcome. Day to day, that means:
- Greeting residents, families, and guests warmly at the front desk, and building real relationships with our residents
- Answering and directing phone calls, taking messages, and helping residents with questions, requests, and community information
- Covering the front desk on your own while our Leasing Consultant is out with residents on outings (doctor runs, weekly shopping trips, occasional lunch outings)
- Managing visitor sign-in and vendor logs, and keeping an eye on the entrance, lobby, and security cameras
- Receiving and handing out packages, deliveries, and mail
- Passing maintenance concerns and resident requests along to the right team member
- Helping plan, set up, and host resident events and wellness programs, including set-up for our Friday afternoon social hour, decorating the common areas for holidays, and encouraging residents to join in
- Supporting the management and leasing team with administrative tasks: copies, resident communications, and keeping directories, calendars, and bulletin boards up to date
- Occasionally showing our community to visitors when the leasing agent is away
- Keeping the front desk, lobby, and community information displays tidy and inviting
- Handling resident information with discretion, and following our guest-access and emergency procedures
This is an independent living community, so the role is hospitality and front-desk support, not caregiving or medical care.
What we're looking for
Requirements:
- You're a genuine people person. You're warm, patient, dependable, and easy to talk to, and you make residents and guests feel at home the moment they arrive.
- Just as important, you get things done. You stay organized, juggle more than one thing at a time, and pitch in with all sorts of tasks as they come up.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to type and edit a short note in Word or email, with or without reasonable accommodation. No specialized software experience is required.
Nice to have (not required):
- Spanish. Being bilingual is a big plus.
- Prior concierge, front-desk, receptionist, hospitality, hotel, customer service, leasing, or senior living experience
- Experience working with older adults
- Ability to occasionally work extra hours and perhaps even overtime for very short stretches of time when the situation calls for it (during annual inspections or any situations that may come up, etc)
- Event planning experience
- A Fair Housing course or certificate.
You'll complete a short Fair Housing course on the job when you start, so you don't need to know it beforehand.
