Colorado 811 is looking for a Contact Center Team Lead who thrives in a fast-paced, service-driven environment and knows how to bring out the best in others. This is a great opportunity for someone who understands Contact Center operations, enjoys coaching and supporting peers, and wants to play a meaningful role in helping Colorado’s excavation and damage prevention process run smoothly.

As a Contact Center Team Lead, you will serve as a trusted operational support resource for Damage Prevention Agents and the Contact Center leadership team. You will help keep daily operations moving by providing real-time floor support, monitoring queues and workflows, assisting with escalated customer and member concerns, supporting quality and compliance expectations, and reinforcing consistent adherence to Colorado 811 processes, procedures, policies, and standards.

This role is ideal for someone who is calm under pressure, strong with details, confident in contact center systems, and energized by helping others succeed.

In this role, you will help ensure our Contact Center team delivers accurate, timely, professional, and consistent service to the people and organizations who rely on Colorado 811 every day.

You will be the person agents look to for guidance, clarity, coaching, and support — while also helping leadership identify trends, improve workflows, strengthen service levels, and maintain operational excellence.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will:

Provide real-time in-office and/or virtual floor support to Damage Prevention Agents by answering questions, assisting with procedures and system navigation, reinforcing ticket accuracy and call handling expectations, and supporting customer service and issue resolution.
Monitor queues, workflows, service levels, schedule adherence, quality metrics, ticket accuracy, call quality, mapping accuracy, locate request processing, and other Contact Center performance indicators.
Support first-level escalations by helping de-escalate customer/member interactions, clarifying facts, reviewing applicable tickets or call recordings, and identifying appropriate next steps within established authority.
Assist with mentoring, onboarding, training, shadowing, job aids, side-by-side coaching, and targeted support for agents and DPAs.
Reinforce expectations for professionalism, call quality, accurate ticket entry, map reading, locate request processing, customer service, escalation judgment, compliance, and consistent adherence to Colorado 811 Contact Center standards.
Support quality assurance, ACD call monitoring, coaching documentation, reporting, process improvement, and trend identification.
Communicate clearly across a hybrid work environment by helping share reminders, updates, process changes, and operational messaging.
Model reliability, professionalism, confidentiality, accountability, schedule adherence, and leadership-minded behavior.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who brings a strong combination of Contact Center experience, coaching ability, judgment, accuracy, and professionalism.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
At least three years of general contact center, customer service, or related operational support experience.
Experience working in a performance-driven, metrics-based Contact Center environment.
Advanced knowledge of Colorado 811 ticket entry, operational Call Center processes, Colorado One-Call requirements, ticket creation standards, Contact Center procedures, and applicable quality and compliance expectations.
Strong customer service, de-escalation, problem-solving, communication, organization, time management, and attention-to-detail skills.
Proficiency with contact center tools and technology, including phone/ACD platforms, ticketing or workflow systems, knowledge bases, Microsoft Office applications, and company-provided digital resources.
Ability to coach, mentor, train, and support peers while maintaining appropriate non-supervisory boundaries.

Preferred Qualifications

At least two years of 811 Call Center experience preferred
Additional education or relevant certifications.
Non-supervisory peer support, mentoring, coaching, training assistance, or informal team lead experience.
QA review, call monitoring, ticket accuracy review, coaching documentation, calibration, or quality improvement follow-up experience.
Escalation handling experience, including first-level de-escalation, issue intake, fact gathering, documentation, follow-through, and appropriate elevation of sensitive or unresolved concerns.
Experience using contact center systems, ACD/phone platforms, ticketing systems, CRM tools, knowledge bases, chat features, and Microsoft Office applications.

Schedule and Work Environment

This is a full-time, non-exempt/hourly position. Regular business hours may vary based on operational needs, and the schedule may include early or late shifts, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime, and occasional after-hours support as business needs require.

Work may be performed in a company-approved office, remote, or hybrid work setting based on business needs. Employees must permanently reside and work within the State of Colorado from a company-approved work location and must be able to report to the company office in Golden, Colorado, or travel to event or work locations as directed.

This role requires extended periods of computer-based work in a fast-paced, metric-driven Contact Center environment with frequent interaction with customers, DPAs, leadership, and team members.

Compensation

Pay Range: $27.00–$35.00 per hour, depending on experience and related skills.
