Full Job Description

Please review all requirements carefully before applying. This is a hands-on caregiving role that requires prior experience and current certifications. Applicants who meet these requirements and are able to work independently will be prioritized.

We are a small, home-like board and care facility in Thousand Oaks with 5 residents, looking for a reliable and experienced caregiver to join our team.

This role involves hands-on care for elderly residents with varying levels of need, including ambulatory, non-ambulatory, and bedridden individuals. Some residents require support with dementia-related behaviors.

This is a structured environment with a consistent daily routine. Once familiar with the residents and schedule, the workflow becomes manageable and straightforward.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with toileting, bathing, grooming, and dressing
Provide care for bedridden and non-ambulatory residents
Assist with feeding and hydration
Provide medication assistance/reminders
Support residents with dementia and behavioral changes
Provide companionship and emotional support
Prepare simple meals
Perform light housekeeping and cleaning
Maintain a safe and clean environment
Follow care plans and instructions carefully

Requirements (Must Have)

Previous caregiving experience with varying levels of care (ambulatory, non-ambulatory, bedridden)
CPR and First Aid certification (current)
Recent physical exam within the last 6 months
Recent TB test within the last 6 months
Authorized to work in the United States
Dependable and consistent with attendance and punctuality
Kind, patient, and respectful toward all residents
Able to remain calm and professional in all situations
Able to follow instructions and communicate effectively
Organized, clean, and attentive to detail
Strong time management and multitasking skills
Able to provide safe, attentive care at all times

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with dementia care
Experience in assisted living or board and care settings

Work Environment

Small 6-resident home setting
Consistent daily routine
Supportive, team-oriented environment

Additional Notes

We are looking for someone dependable who takes pride in their work and is experienced in providing quality care. This role is essential to maintaining the comfort, safety, and well-being of our residents.

Starting at $19/hour, with opportunity for increase to $20/hour after 60 days based on performance, reliability, and attendance.

Pay: $19.00 per hour
