Full Job Description

Kyle Media Inc. is looking for a full-time Marketing Assistant to join our growing marketing department. This is a hands-on role for someone who is organized, creative, detail-oriented, and excited to gain experience across multiple areas of marketing.

Kyle Media is a marine media and publishing company behind brands including Latitudes & Attitudes Magazine, Great Lakes Scuttlebutt, Southeast & Gulf Coast. Our marketing team supports our publications, digital platforms, advertisers, and company growth through print, email, social media, websites, digital advertising, integrated marketing campaigns and especially proposals for potential advertisers.

As our Marketing Assistant, you'll work directly with our Marketing Manager and Marketing Director to help turn marketing plans into finished campaigns and deliverables. This position will play an important role in keeping our websites, newsletters, social channels, proposals, client campaigns, and marketing schedules moving accurately and on time.

Responsibilities

Upload, format, and publish website articles, including images, links, authors, categories, tags, excerpts, metadata, and basic on-page SEO
Build, proof, test, and schedule email newsletters and marketing emails
Create and schedule organic social media content across multiple Kyle Media brands
Turn articles, magazine launches, events, advertiser commitments, and company initiatives into social and digital content
Assist with client advertising campaigns, including sponsored social posts, email blasts, landing-page updates, and digital creative
Build and format marketing proposals using established templates
Insert client assets, pricing, campaign recommendations, and mockups into proposals
Resize and adapt creative assets for various digital platforms and placements
Support advertiser and sales marketing campaigns, including media kit promotions, advertising deadlines, sponsorship opportunities, and issue announcements
Maintain marketing calendars, production schedules, and campaign trackers
Organize creative assets, client files, campaign links, templates, and completed proofs
Collect basic campaign performance information to support reporting
Proof marketing materials and perform quality-control checks before content or campaigns go live
Help ensure projects and client deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is highly organized, dependable, creative, and comfortable managing multiple projects at once.

The ideal candidate:

Has strong organizational and time-management skills
Pays close attention to details
Has strong written communication, grammar, and proofreading skills
Is comfortable working with deadlines and managing multiple priorities
Understands the basics of social media and digital marketing
Is comfortable learning new software and marketing platforms
Can follow established processes while identifying opportunities to improve them
Is comfortable receiving feedback and making revisions
Can work independently once expectations and deadlines are established
Is proactive and willing to figure things out rather than waiting to be told every next step
Enjoys a position that includes a mix of creative, technical, organizational, and production work

Helpful Experience

Experience with any of the following is a plus, but we do not expect applicants to know every platform on day one:

Education & Experience

A degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Graphic Design, Public Relations, Business, or a related field is preferred.

Recent graduates and early-career marketing professionals are encouraged to apply.

Relevant internships, freelance work, student organizations, personal projects, social media management, content creation, or other hands-on marketing experience will also be considered.

About the Role

This is not a position where you'll spend every day doing the same task.

One day you may be preparing a client proposal or building an email campaign, while another may involve publishing articles, creating social content, updating a landing page, organizing campaign assets, or preparing marketing materials for an upcoming magazine issue.

You'll work alongside a Marketing Director and Marketing Manager and gain hands-on exposure to digital advertising, social media, email marketing, SEO, publishing, client campaigns, sales marketing, content creation, and marketing operations.
