In-Home Sales Representative / Estimator (Residential Painting)

Location: Greater Phoenix Metro (in person)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000 base + uncapped commission. $85,000 to $110,000 realistic first-year earnings. Top performer target $125,000+. Plus vehicle and fuel reimbursement.

About Us

Eleven Coats Painting is a residential repainting company in the Greater Phoenix and Scottsdale metro servicing the entire valley.

Our founder has thirty years in this trade. At the peak of his last company he had 126 painters working across Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Tucson. He has sold thousands of paint jobs himself, and he will personally train the person who takes this role.

We are rebuilding the residential side of the business with real marketing spend behind it. That is why this job exists. We have more appointments than one person can run.

Our promise to homeowners is simple. You should not have to know anything about paint to get a good paint job. The number we quote is the number you pay, no matter what it costs us to get there.

About the Role

You will run pre-set, inbound appointments with homeowners who requested an estimate. You walk the home, diagnose what they actually need, price it inside our guidelines, and close.

This is not a cold-calling job. You are not building your own pipeline from scratch.

This is also not a high-pressure or gimmick job. No made-up discounts. No same-day-only pricing. No sitting in someone's kitchen for three hours wearing them down.

We want someone who can run a structured appointment, hold price with confidence, and leave the homeowner feeling informed instead of worked over.

What You Will Do

- Run 12 to 15 pre-set appointments per week, growing to 20 as we scale marketing

- Measure, scope, and price residential repaint projects

- Close 40% or more of the appointments you run, ramping to 50%+

- Sell projects averaging $5,500

- Price inside clear company guidelines and margin floors

- Set accurate expectations so production can deliver what you sold

- Collect signed contracts and deposits on site

- Work your own follow-up, past customers, and neighbor referrals off active job sites

- Keep the CRM current and clean

What You Will Not Do

- No cold calling from purchased lists

- No door-to-door canvassing

- No scheduling crews or managing production

- No chasing post-sale complaints

Once the job is sold, you hand it cleanly to our Production Manager and move on to the next appointment.

The Schedule, Stated Honestly

Homeowners are home in the evenings and on weekends. That is when this job gets done.

Expect several evening appointments per week and a Saturday morning most weeks. If a fixed nine to five is what you need, this is not the right seat and we would rather you know that now than in week six.

Compensation

- Base: $40,000 per year, paid regardless of production. This is not a draw. We do not claw it back.

- Commission: Uncapped, tiered monthly on collected revenue. The tiers step up as you produce, so a strong month pays disproportionately more than an average one.

- Ramp guarantee: Minimum $6,000 total compensation across your first three months while you learn our system, regardless of what you sell.

- Vehicle: Mileage and fuel reimbursed.

- Full plan is shared in detail during the interview process. Nothing is hidden and nothing changes after you're hired.

- $1.2M to $1.6M in personal sales

- 40%+ close rate ramping to 50%+

What We Are Looking For

- Experience in in-home or consultative sales. Home services strongly preferred: painting, windows, doors, flooring, bath, closets, gutter protection, HVAC comfort advising.

- Comfortable running a structured appointment start to finish

- Confident discussing price without reaching for a discount

- Professional, punctual, organized

- Humble. You will be coached, and you will be riding with the owner for your first two weeks.

- Understands that selling a bad-fit job hurts the customer, the crew, and eventually you

This Role Is Not A Fit If You

- Rely on pressure tactics or manufactured urgency

- Need to discount heavily to close

- Are looking for a $60,000 ticket and a once-a-month sale

- Blame production for sales problems

- Want a seat where nobody looks at your numbers
