As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and safety-conscious Loader / Unloader to support daily freight, warehouse, and transportation operations.
Position Overview
The Loader / Unloader is responsible for safely and efficiently loading and unloading freight, pallets, boxes, materials, and other shipments from trucks and trailers.
This position helps ensure freight is properly handled, organized, staged, and prepared for transportation while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
The ideal candidate is physically capable, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced freight and warehouse environment. Previous experience is preferred but not required.
Key ResponsibilitiesLoading & Unloading
- Load and unload freight, pallets, boxes, materials, and shipments from trucks and trailers.
- Safely move freight between loading docks, warehouse areas, staging areas, and vehicles.
- Organize freight according to delivery routes, destinations, shipment priorities, and loading instructions.
- Properly position freight inside trailers to support safe and efficient transportation.
- Assist with securing freight using approved straps, wraps, bars, or other equipment when required.
- Verify shipment quantities and package information during loading and unloading.
- Inspect freight for visible damage and report damaged or missing items to supervisors.
- Assist drivers and warehouse personnel with daily shipment preparation.
Warehouse & Freight Operations
- Receive and stage incoming freight in designated areas.
- Prepare outbound shipments for scheduled transportation.
- Assist with cross-docking and transfer of freight when required.
- Sort and organize pallets, boxes, containers, and other materials.
- Assist with inventory movement and warehouse organization.
- Maintain accurate records of freight movement and shipment discrepancies.
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities.
- Keep loading docks, warehouse areas, and staging locations clean and organized.
- Help maintain efficient material flow throughout daily operations.
Safety & Quality
- Follow company loading, unloading, warehouse, and material-handling procedures.
- Follow all workplace safety requirements and proper lifting techniques.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
- Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, carts, forklifts, or other equipment only when trained and authorized.
- Report damaged freight, equipment problems, unsafe conditions, or other operational concerns promptly.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Handle freight carefully to minimize product damage.
- Support company standards for accuracy, productivity, and safe freight handling.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work closely with drivers, warehouse personnel, dispatch, and operations teams.
- Communicate shipment issues and loading concerns to supervisors.
- Assist coworkers during periods of high freight volume.
- Follow daily work assignments and operational priorities.
- Maintain a professional and cooperative attitude.
- Support additional warehouse and freight-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in freight, warehouse, shipping and receiving, loading/unloading, logistics, or material handling is preferred but not required.
- Ability to safely lift and move freight and materials.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Physical Requirements
This is an active, hands-on position. Candidates should be able to:
- Lift and move freight weighing up to 50 pounds, as required.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Bend, reach, squat, kneel, and climb as necessary.
- Repeatedly load and unload freight during a work shift.
- Push and pull carts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
- Safely work around trucks, trailers, loading docks, and warehouse equipment.
- Maintain productivity and accuracy while performing repetitive physical tasks.

Work Environment
The Loader / Unloader works primarily in a warehouse, loading dock, freight, and transportation environment.
Daily responsibilities may include loading and unloading trucks, moving pallets and freight, staging shipments, checking shipment information, organizing warehouse areas, and assisting drivers and operations personnel.
The position can be physically demanding and may involve changing freight volumes throughout the day. Employees are expected to maintain a strong focus on safety, accuracy, productivity, and teamwork.
