Full Job Description

A dynamic independent insurance and risk management firm is seeking individuals to join our team. The position is for a hybrid scenario in which you will be required to work in-person at least 3 days per week in our Los Angeles or NYC office. We seek an experienced Claims Coordinator or Claims Analyst with a commercial insurance background, ideally with exposure to large real estate portfolios. The ideal candidate will have enough claims and coverage knowledge to hit the ground running, while working alongside our senior risk consultants and principals to manage the day-to-day claims activity of a large, complex real estate client portfolio.

Responsibilities include daily claims coordination across a national commercial real estate book, including but not limited to: serving as the front-line intake point for new incidents reported by property managers and owners, submitting First Notice of Loss (FNOL) to TPAs and carriers, triaging and routing claims by coverage line, tracking adjuster assignments and claim numbers, monitoring and responding to letters of representation and Summons & Complaints, coordinating defense counsel assignments and tenders, following up on open items with TPAs, brokers, defense counsel, and property managers, reviewing leases, property management agreements and Certificates of Insurance for coverage and indemnity provisions, tracking reserve movements and Adverse Development Letters for excess tower notification, maintaining the master claims inbox and claims tracker, preparing status updates for client legal and asset management teams, and supporting senior consultants on coverage analysis, litigation strategy coordination, and portfolio-level reporting.

Four to five years of commercial insurance claims experience, preferably with real estate, habitability, or general liability exposure
Four-year college degree
Familiarity with TPA workflows and commercial brokerage operations
Excellent customer service, organizational skills, and multi-tasking capabilities under deadline pressure
Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to write clearly to carriers, defense counsel, and client legal teams
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, MS Word, and Outlook
Experience with commercial real estate, multifamily/habitability, hospitality, or construction claims would be advantageous
Comfort working with litigation documents (Summons & Complaints, subpoenas, demand packages) and with attorney communications

Pay: $115,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
