Summary of the Production Supervisor role at Altek Electronics
The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising all activities related to manufacturing at Altek Electronics in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Production Supervisor at Altek Electronics are described below other duties may be assigned:

Supports a zero-injury culture by proactively complying with all safety practices and conducts self- inspections and safety huddles on a regular basis.

Works with the production team to ensure all safety, quality, cost/labor and delivery commitments are measured, monitored and met.

Manages daily production operations to ensure the manufacture of parts, products, components or assemblies, within an established timeline, quality, and cost standards.

Establishes production and quality control standards, develops cost controls and provides data regarding quantities, and delivery dates of services ordered.

Employs Lean methodologies and tools in order to accomplish business objectives.
-
Provides guidance to the development of a manufacturing process plan, including personnel requirements, training materials, facilities, and tooling and equipment needs.

Coordinates manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of resources, machines, and equipment.

Reviews production reports and directs the resolution of manufacturing problems to prevent operational delays.

Determines responsibilities and provides direction to direct reports in order to accomplish business objectives.

Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.

Appraises performance and provides leadership guidance to direct reports so as to continually improve team effectiveness.

Implements manufacturing and continuous improvement strategies and goals across all departments as assigned.

Maintains a strong presence on the manufacturing floor.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises Manufacturing staff across one or multiple shifts and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Altek’s Mission, Vision, and Purpose. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements

Proven management experience in a high demand manufacturing environment in industries such as aerospace, electronics, medical, etc.

Ability to lead, motivate, and influence others both inside and outside the organization.

Ability to set measurable and realistic goals and convert plans into action.

Ability to quickly process information and learn new skills, processes, procedures, etc.

Strong commitment to quality

Experience with Lean Six Sigma culture and Continuous Improvement

ISO 9001, AS9100 and ISO 13485

Ability to use various test equipment, i.e.: Oscilloscopes, Waveform Generators, AC/DC Power Supplies, etc. a plus

Ability to read and interpret schematics and test requirements a plus.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have a familiarity with a production system, test software and/or equipment.

Education and/or Experience
-
BS in Business / electrical or electronics engineering or related area(s) or equivalent experience

At least 5 years of supervisory experience in a high volume / high mix production environment.

Lean and/or Six Sigma Certifications a plus.
Working Conditions
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves lifting materials and product up to 30 pounds.
