Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work overnight shifts from 2:15p-9p. In this vital role, you will provide personalized care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, or those in assisted living environments. Your energy and positive attitude will help create a safe, respectful, and engaging environment where residents can thrive. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through caregiving, assistance with daily activities, and fostering independence.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment
Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health and safety.
Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document all medication administration
Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging residents in social activities to promote mental well-being.
Support residents implementing behavior management techniques and maintaining a calm environment.
Maintain a clean and safe living environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and common spaces.
Follow all safety protocols including first aid procedures, emergency response plans
Document incidents or changes in resident condition clearly and promptly for team communication.
Drive residents when needed for appointments or community outings, ensuring safe transportation practices.

Qualifications

Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred.
Knowledge of caregiving techniques including assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and behavior management.
Certifications in first aid and CPR are required; additional certifications
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities is beneficial.
Ability to work overnight shifts reliably while maintaining a positive attitude.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and engage residents.
Valid driver’s license preferred for transportation duties; must adhere to safety standards during driving activities.
