The IT Field Technician travels between store locations to install, maintain, and repair store-level hardware and software. Troubleshoot point-of-sale (POS) registers, self-checkouts, barcode scanners, weighing scales, servers, and network switches to maintain smooth operation of checkout lanes and inventory systems. Promotes and maintains the B. Green’s mission, values, and culture.
Essential Duties:
- Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of retail store technology, including point-of-sale (POS) systems, store office computers, computer peripherals, and data networks.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware components such as desktops, laptops, printers, and network devices.
- Manage Active Directory accounts, permissions, and group policies to ensure secure access control.
- Support network infrastructure including LAN (Local Area Network), VPN (Virtual Private Network), firewalls, and computer networking components to maintain connectivity.
- Conduct hardware maintenance, upgrades, and repairs while documenting all service activities.
- Assist end-users with help desk requests related to system administration, software troubleshooting, and general IT support while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Observe computer/technology problems firsthand and help customers with problem-solving steps.
- Support IT ERP Manager with vendor coordination, work with hardware and software vendors to ensure equipment and software are running optimally.
- Collaborate with IT team in support of technology efforts.
- On-Call availability, may be required to be on-call for emergencies.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED equivalence is required. Technical degree is preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 2+ years of related IT experience, such as troubleshooting hardware and software issues, wireless and wired networking, Microsoft 365 administration, active directory, etc.
- Installing and configuring hardware and software components in Retail/Wholesale industry is a plus but not required.
- Product or system certifications are a plus, but not required
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift heavy equipment not to exceed 75lb
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable form of transportation to travel between retail store locations.
- Proven experience in technical troubleshooting support with a strong understanding of operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.

The incumbent will be required to consistently travel to other facilities, by automobile therefore a current, valid driver’s license is required. The role will rely heavily upon the incumbents’ ability to communicate clearly and as such, the ability to speak, listen and comprehend information is critical. There will be long, extensive periods of sitting while working on computer but based upon the layout of the corporate office and our retail stores, the ability to walk, stand and climb stairs is required. There may be the need to crawl, push, pull, and/or lift overhead while performing duties.
Work Environment: Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The work environment is based in a combination of the corporate environment which usually has a low to moderate noise level. As well as the retail environment which is usually a moderate to high noise level.
Work Schedule: Full time role to equate to 40 hours or more per week. Occasionally, there may be business functions that will require your presence on additional nights and/or weekends. This is an on-site position. Flexibility for early morning, overnight, or on-call shifts to avoid disrupting store hours.

The base compensation range targeted for this role is $24.00 – $29.00 per hour. This salary range represents B. Green & Co, Inc.’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications exceeding the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the candidate selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
