The following is required for this position:

Medical Billing/Coding experience (preferred, not required)
Insurance Credentialing Experience (preferred, not required)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Timeliness
Organization skills
Basic computer skills
Ability to learn new software
Considerable attention to detail
Ability to multitask
A genuine interest in improving patient's quality of life

Some duties for this position include:

Clinical and surgical coding for ophthalmology and clinical coding for optometry
Routine vision billing for various vision plans (VSP, Eyemed, Superior Vision, etc.)
Submitting claims to copay assistance foundations (Good Days, etc.)
Frequent communication with VA, insurance companies, chart audit companies, etc.
Prior Authorizations
Insurance verification
Chart audits
Legal record requests
Invoicing for chart audits and legal record requests
Provide estimates for surgical patients
Other tasks as assigned by the Billing Coordinator
