Full Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION: Maintenance Technician – CNC Machines and Robotic Welding

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintenance Tech will have responsibility to perform variety of maintenance, repair, preventive maintenance and daily maintenance of equipment including robot welding, CNC machines, SPMs and assembly machines etc. with limited guidance. Must have maintenance knowledge of these machines in order to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely fashion. Safely, professionally and efficiently, complete machine repairs and rebuilds per line-up and documentation. Able to support and participate on continuous improvement functions on the plant equipment and demonstrate a spirit of teamwork and cooperation in order to improve overall plant OEE

Troubleshoot and Perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and CNC machine repairs as required for NC machinery, presses and equipment with minimal supervision using safe techniques and schematics.
Perform electrical tasks and incidental work as needed to achieve assigned task.
Perform electronic component replacement per familiarity and/or training.
After performing maintenance verify equipment as functional and leave the area clean and safe
Operate in response to requests by maintenance / production supervisor or support personnel and set priorities as required to maximize equipment uptime
Gather and maintain a complete set of required tools, including calipers, dial indicators, electrical meters and other diagnostic and measurement devices. Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to define problem areas and assist with resolution.
Utilize measurement devices to hold print tolerances and industry standards while performing machine repairs and assembly
Participate in preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve operational uptime and equipment life. Recommend improvements and/or changes to PM systems/tasks when applicable
Follow designated work instructions as outlined for specific functions. These include, but are not limited to; PM work orders, continuous improvement tasks, new installation line-ups, and repair/refurbish assignments
Update drawings/prints, suggest spare parts and suitable replacements, and perform various forms of machine repair/rebuild in a professional manner.
Follow standard practices and all governmental / MIOSHA regulations and laws relating to powered equipment
Perform other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and management
Assist on installation and maintenance of machinery, equipment, etc.
Ensures departmental compliance with company policies, including safety regulations
Perform facility maintenance and oversees work performed by outside contractors as necessary
Ensures compliance of Environmental standards and Quality system standard IATF 16949
Ensure good house keeping (5S requirements) at all times.
Co-ordinate with purchase for the need of required spares, tooling and supplies
Assist to train operators on job for safety on a periodic interval
To take appropriate corrective action for any safety or process issues
Participate in daily production meeting and take required actions per outcome of meeting.

QUALIFICATION AND KNOWLEDGE:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Industrial maintenance mechanical hydraulic course completion or relevant experience
Familiarity with government regulations for industry and safe work practices dealing with machine repair
Must have a background Knowledge and troubleshooting skill of CNC machining, robot welding, press assembly, compressors, hydraulics and other General machineries
Familiarity with complex machinery, electrical circuits, and plant operating equipment
Should maintain a sense of urgency, self-motivation and overall good work ethic while performing tasks in a safe manner
Skills in interpersonal relations and written and oral communications
Understand the major components of CNC machines and their function. (Sensors, PLC,

Hydraulics, Pneumatics, etc.)

Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
Firm understanding of safety regulations including MIOSHA and Government.
Exposure to production environment
Must be able to work flexible hours

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

Must wear Personal Protective Equipment when in a production area
