Full Job Description

Leasing/Assistant Manager

Summary

The Leasing/Assistant Manager works closely with the Business Manager to support daily community operations while also driving leasing and sales efforts. This position is designed as a career path toward Business Manager and requires someone who can balance sales-driven leasing work with administrative and operational oversight.

Responsibilities

Leasing & Marketing

Greet prospective residents and conduct site tours
Explain lease terms and lease apartments
Inspect vacant units to ensure rent-ready condition and schedule turnover preparation
Assist in creating and implementing effective marketing programs (online and print)
Conduct market surveys and stay informed on local market conditions
Maintain daily tracking sheets on prospect traffic and leasing activity
Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly leasing reports for Business Manager approval
Respond to telephone inquiries and resident concerns/requests in a timely manner
Implement lease renewal programs
Oversee and assist other leasing staff with their duties

Operations & Administration

Schedule income verification appointments, prepare/process lease agreements, and maintain housing wait lists (tax credit properties)
Issue legal notices when necessary
Assist with rent collection, security deposits, petty cash logging, and bank deposit preparation
Serve as a primary point of contact for data entry (move-ins, move-outs, rent posting, ledger charges)
Inspect property and identify maintenance/security issues; coordinate maintenance inspections with facilities staff and ensure timely work order completion
Maintain resident and property files while protecting confidential information
Communicate emergency preparedness procedures to residents and coordinate resident meetings
Report and document property incidents within 24 hours
Assist with monthly closing and overall operations as designated by the Business Manager
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

High School diploma, GED, or trade school certificate required
One or more years of residential property management or administrative experience preferred
Prior leasing/sales experience a plus
Proficiency in MS Office and Yardi CRM software (preferred/required)
Strong sales, verbal, and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to resolve conflict calmly and professionally
Customer-focused with ability to achieve measurable results
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends
Valid driver's license and car preferred
Bilingual a plus
Professional image, initiative, and strong follow-through

Pay: $25.00 per hour
