Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, providing essential support in a kennel environment. This role involves caring for various animals, ensuring their safety and comfort, and maintaining a clean and organized facility. The Kennel Assistant will work closely with other staff members to promote the health and well-being of all animals in our care. Also will need to bathe pets on a daily basis, willing to learn the correct way to bathe an animal, stay caring and compassionate while doing bathing. We are looking for someone who is available Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.

Responsibilities

Provide daily care for dogs and other animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces to ensure a hygienic environment.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or management.
Assist with animal restraint during grooming as needed.
Support training efforts by reinforcing basic commands and socialization skills.
Handle animals safely and effectively, ensuring their comfort during interactions.
Maintain accurate records of animal care activities and any incidents that occur.
Collaborate with team members to create a positive atmosphere for both animals and clients.

Experience

Previous experience in animal care or handling is preferred but not required; we welcome passionate individuals willing to learn.
Familiarity with dog training techniques is a plus.
Experience with heavy lifting is beneficial as the role may require moving large bags of food or equipment.
Knowledge of animal restraint methods is advantageous for ensuring safety during handling.
A strong understanding of pet care practices will enhance your ability to succeed in this role.
Previous experience in bathing is preferred but not required.
