Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, organized, and motivated Bar Manager to oversee all aspects of our bar operations. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who is passionate about hospitality, excels at training and developing bartenders, and maintains high standards for inventory control, organization, and guest service. This position requires someone who leads by example, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to creating an exceptional experience for both members and staff.

Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day operations of the bar.
Create and maintain weekly bartender schedules based on business needs.
Recruit, interview, hire, and train bartenders to company standards.
Conduct ongoing coaching, evaluations, and performance management.
Ensure bartenders consistently follow service standards, recipes, and responsible alcohol service practices.
Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked liquor room.
Oversee all liquor, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverage inventory.
Complete regular inventory counts and investigate discrepancies.
Maintain established inventory par levels and ensure products are reordered before shortages occur.
Place weekly and special event beverage orders with vendors.
Organize liquor deliveries and ensure products are stored properly.
Develop pars for all bar locations and adjust as business demands change.
Monitor liquor costs, waste, over-pouring, and product usage.
Ensure proper rotation of inventory (FIFO) and maintain accurate records.
Plan and execute beverage service for club events, tournaments, weddings, banquets, and special functions.
Coordinate staffing and product needs for all events.
Work closely with Food & Beverage leadership to develop specialty cocktails and seasonal beverage menus.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards behind every bar.
Ensure all bartenders follow opening, closing, and side-work procedures.
Resolve member concerns professionally and promptly.
Maintain compliance with all TABC regulations and company policies.
Foster teamwork, accountability, and professionalism throughout the bar team.

Expectations

The Bar Manager is expected to:

Maintain accurate inventory with minimal variance.
Keep all bar areas and the liquor room organized at all times.
Ensure all bars remain fully stocked and event-ready.
Train bartenders to consistently prepare beverages according to recipes and presentation standards.
Hold bartenders accountable for cleanliness, professionalism, speed of service, and member hospitality.
Monitor par levels daily and proactively replenish inventory before shortages occur.
Lead by example through a positive attitude, professionalism, and a hands-on management style.
Build a culture of teamwork, urgency, and continuous improvement.
Communicate effectively with management, culinary staff, and event teams.
Ensure all beverage operations run efficiently while controlling costs and maximizing profitability.

Qualifications

Previous Bar Manager or Beverage Manager experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and classic cocktails.
Experience with beverage inventory management and ordering.
Ability to develop schedules and manage labor costs.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to train and motivate a team.
Experience planning beverage operations for events is preferred.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
TABC Certification required (or ability to obtain).
