Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and Pre-operative team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and be committed to providing exceptional patient care during the critical recovery phase following surgery. As a PACU/Pre-op RN, you will play a vital role in monitoring patients, managing pain, and ensuring their comfort and safety as they transition from anesthesia.

Duties

Assess and monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition post-surgery.
Administer medications and manage pain effectively, utilizing pain management techniques.
Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure continuity of care and address any complications that may arise.
Provide education to patients and their families regarding post-operative care and recovery expectations.
Document patient progress accurately in patient chart.
Assist with ventilatory support as needed for patients requiring additional care.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance nursing skills.

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Previous experience in a PACU, Pre-op, emergency room, or critical care setting is preferred.
Ability to lift patients safely and assist with mobility as needed.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Compassionate demeanor with a focus on patient-centered care.
