Epic Clarity Reporting / Analytics Developer

Position Summary
We are seeking experienced Epic Clarity professionals for multiple healthcare IT openings supporting Epic reporting, analytics, data integration, and enterprise data environments.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on Epic Clarity experience, strong SQL skills, healthcare data knowledge, and the ability to build, troubleshoot, validate, and support reporting solutions used by clinical, financial, revenue cycle, access, and operational teams.
Certification alone is not sufficient. Candidates must be able to demonstrate recent, hands-on Epic build and configuration experience.
Key Responsibilities
Depending on the position, responsibilities may include:
- Write, develop, and troubleshoot SQL queries against the Epic Clarity relational reporting database.
- Build and maintain reports, extracts, dashboards, and downstream datasets.
- Translate healthcare business requirements into accurate:
- Joins
- Filters
- Dates
- Populations
- Measures
- Reporting logic
- Develop reporting solutions for clinical, financial, revenue cycle, access, and operational departments.
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, edge-case testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Document reporting logic, validation results, and user sign-off.
- Troubleshoot data discrepancies and reporting issues.
- Support deployment and production validation.
- Work with Epic Cogito, Caboodle, SlicerDicer, and/or enterprise data warehouse environments, depending on the role.
- For ETL/administration positions, monitor extract and load processes, investigate failed or delayed loads, manage dependencies, support recovery, and assist with upgrades.
- Collaborate with analysts, developers, clinical teams, business stakeholders, and technical teams.

Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated professional experience working with Epic Clarity and/or Epic analytics environments.
- Strong SQL development and troubleshooting skills.

- Experience validating and reconciling healthcare data.
- Ability to explain previous Epic build/configuration work in detail.

Epic Certification
Certification requirements vary by opening.
Depending on the specific position, candidates may be required to hold or have experience with relevant Epic credentials such as:
- Epic Clarity Data Model

- SlicerDicer-related training/proficiency
- Other Epic or systems-administration credentials specified by the client
Important: Candidates will be screened for the certification applicable to the specific position. Certification must be current/valid as required by the client.
Hands-On Build Experience Required
Candidates should be prepared to discuss actual Epic work they have personally performed.
During the screening process, candidates may be asked to explain:
- What Epic reporting/build work they personally completed
- Which Epic applications or data models they supported
- Their Clarity SQL experience
- Reports, extracts, dashboards, or datasets they built
- How they troubleshoot incorrect or missing data
- How they validate reporting results
- Their experience with Cogito, Caboodle, SlicerDicer, or EDW
- Their role in testing, deployment, upgrades, or production support
- Specific examples of complex reporting or data problems they resolved
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate hands-on experience—not candidates relying solely on certification or theoretical knowledge.
Candidate Screening Process

1. Verify Certification
Confirm the appropriate Epic certification or credential for the specific opening.
2. Verify Hands-On Build Experience
Candidates must demonstrate actual Epic Clarity/reporting/data work they have performed.
3. AI/Technical Interview
Qualified candidates will complete a technical interview focused on Epic Clarity, SQL, healthcare data, reporting logic, and hands-on experience.
4. Candidate Coaching & Submission
Candidates who successfully complete the screening process will receive preparation and coaching for the client interview.
