Full Job Description

Job Summary
An exciting and fast-paced certified medical assistant opportunity is available for an established Mohs surgery dermatology office in Spartanburg. Responsibilities include direct patient care and education, surgical prep, primary assist with a variety of skin cancer surgical procedures and wound care. The position requires a high degree of intelligence, empathy and energy. Must be able to process information and learn quickly and work well with others while always having a smile on your face. You will be working with a team of well-trained and highly motivated medical professionals in one of the busiest and most respected Mohs surgery practices in the country. Mohs surgery is a technique used to remove high risk skin cancers and/or cancers growing in cosmetically sensitive areas of the face such as the nose, lips or eyelids. Experience in dermatology or other surgical sub-specialties is not required but is extremely advantageous.

Duties

Assist Mohs surgeon and midlevel during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary equipment is ready for use.
Obtain and record medical histories and other relevant patient information.
Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
Educate patients on skin care practices and post-procedure instructions.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.

Experience

Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred, particularly in dermatology or internal medicine.
Familiarity with medical-surgical procedures and outpatient care is advantageous.
Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems is desirable.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with patients and team members.
