Full Job Description

Join Our Team

Elev8 Center of New Jersey Treatment Facility is seeking a compassionate and experienced Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) to join our multidisciplinary team. This role is ideal for a dedicated Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about providing high-quality medical care to adults receiving treatment for substance use disorders (SUD) and co-occurring behavioral health conditions.

As an APN, you'll play a vital role in helping patients begin and maintain their recovery by providing comprehensive medical care, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, and delivering evidence-based treatment in a supportive environment.

What You'll Do

Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations, physical exams, and health histories.
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
Evaluate patients for admission and determine medical appropriateness for treatment.
Prescribe, adjust, and monitor medications in accordance with New Jersey regulations.
Manage Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) within scope of practice.
Monitor patients throughout detoxification and residential treatment.
Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies.
Respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, case managers, and other members of the treatment team.
Participate in interdisciplinary treatment meetings.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
Educate patients regarding medications, treatment plans, wellness, and relapse prevention.
Maintain compliance with DEA, HIPAA, CARF, Joint Commission, and New Jersey Department of Health standards.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and medical staff meetings.

Qualifications Required

Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Current New Jersey Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) License in good standing.
Board Certification as one of the following: Board Certification as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner.
Current DEA and CDS registration.
Current BLS Certification.
Ability to prescribe medications in accordance with New Jersey regulations.
Excellent clinical assessment, diagnostic, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred

Experience working in:
Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment
Detoxification
Residential treatment
Behavioral health
Addiction medicine
Psychiatry
Experience managing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including buprenorphine and extended-release naltrexone.
Knowledge of ASAM Criteria and evidence-based addiction treatment.
Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
