Product Line Manager

About the Position
Responsible for management of product/s of varying complexities from start to finish, including proposals, bids, product design, quality control, production scheduling, problem resolution, coordination, communication, client satisfaction activities and other related duties, in alignment with all Company policies, procedures, key objectives and regulations. This position assists or manages product estimating, product budgets, projections and supplier agreements, job solicitation and product negotiations, and may also be responsible for training, mentoring, and providing work direction to other project team members. All work will be in alignment with all Company policies, procedures, key objectives and regulations.

Day in the Life.
- Manage all phases of product/s end to end to achieve high quality and execution. This includes product opportunities, designs, budgeting, proposals, equipment procurement, execution and delivery, and establishing goals and standards for performance.
- Ensures all orders are fulfilled to the customer's satisfaction and the Company earns a fair profit.
- Collaborate with production team to manage timely and accurate product documents, status reports, estimates, projections, material release schedules, client information, production schedules, purchase orders, monthly invoices, payments, warranties, engineering drawings, manuals, final billings, change orders, cost codes and other documentation to support manufacturing.
- Maintains and manages manufacturing documentation logs. Provides staffing and account management support, customer service, and new business development as needed.
- Documents methods of procedure (MOPs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs), and ensures all production floor personnel have the current materials, tools, plans, schedules, and directions needed for their work, and that all changes in budget and product execution are communicated appropriately, and/or all engineering staff have what they need for their work including data, submittals, etc.
- Establishes clearly defined duties and objectives to achieve required production and quality results.
- Measures, tracks, and reports out on KPI’s regarding to Safety, Production and Factory Throughput
- Supports engagement with vendors and suppliers utilizing standard agreements binding them to terms consistent with Company contract requirements, thereby assigning the appropriate risk.
- Supports the procurement of materials in a proactive and coordinated manner and negotiates with vendors and distributors on availability and pricing of materials, completion of quotes, and other necessary procurement details.
- Ensures all plans and documents are maintained in the appropriate systems.
- Conducts product coordination meetings with production operations leaders and others to transfer documentation, schedules, and other information.
- Regularly attends product update meetings to stay current on production scope, schedules, administrative needs, and market conditions.
- Provides day-to-day direction to production supervisor or factory lead, and/or engineering staff as needed to monitor productivity goals and build teamwork.
- Partners with production supervisors and all product team members to conduct production floor inspections and safety audits and assure accurate scope, assembly, and conformance with manufacturing specifications and the Company’s product quality assurance and safety standards.
- Stays informed of new electrical manufacturing standards, materials, technologies, techniques, and practices. Ensures all safety programs and OSHA requirements are followed.
- Utilizes LEAN concepts or other continuous improvement methodologies to ensure the most efficient operations, processes, and activities.
- Promotes and models the Company mission, vision and values through exercising sound and ethical business practices, championing all elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and providing high quality services and programs as they relate to clients, subcontractors, co-workers, suppliers, and the public.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering, project management, business administration, manufacturing management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of project management experience. Solid project management training and skills. Thorough understanding of the project life cycle.
- Minimum of 2 years of project management work experience in electrical manufacturing (panel fabrication, switchgear assembly, industrial controls, or related disciplines) may be required for some divisions or business groups.
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in an engineering or design role may be required for some divisions or business groups.
- Experience and proficiency using manufacturing software tools (e.g., ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle, MES platforms, AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks, or similar CAD/CAM tools) may be required for some divisions or business groups. Trained and proficient in estimating techniques, negotiating, budgeting, costing, contracting, scheduling, pricing, and common code requirements.
- Knowledge of and proficiency with project management tools and techniques, manufacturing processes and materials, estimating, costing, power distribution, electrical systems design, and general industry safety standards, procedures, and OSHA regulations. Skills to read, interpret, and understand electrical manufacturing specifications, engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and work orders. Excellent financial, analytical, and mathematical skills.
- Customer focus, delegation, presentation, and decision-making skills. Strong organizational, critical thinking skills and detail orientation. Demonstrated a high level of integrity and dependability.
