About Us

Strategic Threat Solutions (STS) is a licensed Executive Protection Firm providing executive protection, investigations, and security consulting services across multiple states. We are looking to increase our close protection team to support principals in the DMV area.

Position Overview

STS is seeking experienced Close Protection Agents to join our DC/Virginia detail roster. Candidates will support principal protection operations ranging from small team details (2–3 agents) to larger coordinated details (5–10 agents), including advance work, route reconnaissance, and direct protective coverage.

Required Qualifications

Active DC Special Police Officer (SPO) license
Active Virginia Personal Protective Specialist (PPS) license
6–10 years of close protection / executive protection experience
Demonstrated experience conducting advances, route reconnaissance, and protective detail operations
Ability to operate effectively in both small-team (2–3 agent) and larger-team (5–10 agent) configurations
Reliable transportation and flexibility for travel within the DC/VA/MD region
Professional appearance, sound judgment, and strong situational awareness

Preferred Qualifications

Armed certification/qualification in DC and/or Virginia
Concealed Carry (CCW) permit valid in DC and/or Virginia
Maryland CCW permit (preferred, not required)
Prior law enforcement or military experience
Advance work or dignitary/VIP protection experience
Defensive driving / evasive driving training
First aid/CPR/TCCC certification
Extensive experience in physical security, operational management, and conflict resolution within high-pressure environments.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to write comprehensive reports clearly and concisely.
Experience working with diverse teams in dynamic settings while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Provide close protection coverage for principals in static and mobile environments
Conduct site and route advances, including venue assessments and contingency planning
Coordinate with team leads and fellow agents to maintain protective formations
Maintain situational awareness and respond to emerging threats or incidents
Prepare after-action reports and maintain detail documentation as required
Adhere to all applicable state licensing, use-of-force, and firearms regulations
